I bought this game for my 3yr old about a year ago. It is a simple game that more than one person can play. This game really helped my toddler improve his hand-eye coordination.
It was difficult for him to use the fishing rods at first, but he decided just to use one of his fingers, which he thought was a fun way to catch the fish. As long as your child is past the stage of putting things in his or her mouth, you don't have to worry about choking hazards.

I have 2 grandchildren approx. 2-1/2 yrs old. They were about 2 when I purchased this. They enjoy it when they come over. We play together for about 10 - 15 minutes which is about their attention span right now, but it is a toy they will bring out to play with where many are gathering dust.

My son's pre-K class has this game, and it is definitely a favorite with all the kids. The kids ask for this game every day and love to play it.
Basically, the way it works is that the fish fit into holes in the game base and as the base spins around, the fish take turns opening and closing their mouths. Kids use fishing rods with magnets on the ends to try and attach on to the magnet in the fish's mouth and pull it up out of the pond.

I think this is a cute little game for families with younger children - my husband and I have had fun with it playing with our 3.5 year old. She has actually mastered holding the fishing rod to pick up the little fish, and enjoys it tremendously when played as a family. We race each other to see who gets the most fish, and she just giggles all the time.
