Editorial Review:

Description:
Party-girl Ayaka Kisagi turned her late-night lifestyle into a business that gives new meaning to the term "graveyard shift!" While it may seem easier for Ayaka to round up troublesome spirits than to put a corporate spin on her own free-wheeling habits, she calls upon a powerful but quirky cadre of cabalists to solve each case with flair and style. Too bad style doesn't pay the bills! No matter the terrors the dark can bring, Ayaka will be sure they get a kiss good-night from Phantom Quest, Corp. -- if she can WAKE UP IN TIME!

Amazon.com:
There are hundreds of thousands of companies in modern Tokyo, but only one Phantom Quest Corporation, a firm that specializes in exorcisms and troublesome spirits. Its founder and CEO is Ayaka Kisaragi, a red-haired klutz whose lipstick turns into an enchanted sword when she needs to dispatch vampires, demons, or ghosts. She's assisted by the exorcist Rokkon, the medium Madame Suimei, the innocent-looking Nanami, and Mamoru, a long-suffering computer whiz who tries to reconcile Ayaka's profligate spending with her limited income. The tone of Phantom Quest suggests Ghostbusters remade for Bette Midler--Ayaka drinks too much, oversleeps, and murders songs in karaoke settings, but she comes through in the end. Her tongue-in-cheek adventures juxtapose supernatural villains with slapstick comedy, much of it involving her put-upon beau, Detective Karino. In "Kiss of Fire," they defeat Count Dracula (whose coffin has been purchased as a novelty by a Japanese businessman) but trash Tokyo Tower in the process. The most satisfying of the four adventures is "Love Me Tender," in which the ghost of an archeologist tries to protect his former fiancée from beyond the grave. Possible sequels are hinted at in the DVD extras. Rated 13 and up for nudity, violence, sexual situations, and occasional profanity. --Charles Solomon

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Favorite Anime
This is one of my favorite anime's, the only down side is that it just didn't last long enough. I would have loved to see much more.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A little-known gem
Phantom Quest Corp is a poorly publicized title, but a lot of fun. Plenty of laughs, interesting characters, a little fanservice for the otaku set, & a general delight.

As for the lead character, she's a little like what Sailor Moon might be, all grown up, if she was a binge shopper & drank too much.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Definitely Hilarious
This show is definitaly one of the funniest anime series made in a while, yet one of the least known. It was only four episodes, yet each one had it's quarks to them, from an anemic vampire, to a group of greedy monks working to shut out the Corporation. The only thing to dislike is that it was only four 30 minutes episodes long. One can only hope that perhaps with the flood of TV series remake of older OAV series, the Phantom Quest Corporation could get some more of their oldball cases.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Buy, Great Flick!!
Phantom Quest Corp. an action/comedy film about the drunken, karoake singing, party girl Ayaka and her friends taking on paranormal enemies, from Dracula to a possessed surgeon, mummies, and even magical monks. This Movie is a comedic romp through the world of supernatural events.

The only set backs on this flick can be that the theme songs can get a little annoying after hearing them too many times, the series is too short although it was still good. The video quality was also pretty nice, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - a rough mixture of "Witch Hunter Robin" and "The X-Files"...
Sure, I could have compared Phantom Quest Corp. to a lot of other animes out there, but the basic premise is the same -- we get a group of people who are working together to solve sci-fi mysteries...and there is definitely nothing wrong with that.
A friend of mine introduced me to this series, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised overall.
If you love having vampires and mummies, among other things, show up in your anime, along with a HUGE dosage of humor to boot, then you will absolutely ... Read More
