Amazon.com: Whether you're from the old school or among today's swell of whippersnapper cartoon mystery mongers, if Scooby-Doo's your thing, you'll want to check out Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders, the soundtrack to the crime-fighting gang's first direct-to-video feature. For one thing, there's no shortage of Scooby- and Shaggy-sung numbers--seven of this CD's 13 tracks feature the lovable duo of voracious scaredy-cats, as voiced by the spot-on Scott Innes, who took over Casey Kasem's former roles. And for another, the music's more than just tolerable. "Alien Invaders" culls a genre-spanning collection that should sit right with just about anyone who appreciates a popular tune. The CD contains loads of fun numbers: a psychedelic rendition of "Purple People Eater" reminiscent of the groovy era of the original series; the rockin' and kind of creepy "We Come from Space"; "Destination Moon," a loungy affair; "The Lost Word," whose soaring guitars are clearly Santana inspired; the jumpin', jivin' "Blast Off"; "Vacuum Cleaner Hoses," sung by an over-the-top Elvis soundalike; and, of course, the series' signature "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" performed here by the occasionally screechy Innes (in the video, it's impressively poppified by the actress Jennifer Love Hewitt). Also, fans of the new film need not fret nor exclaim "jinkies" in disappointment: both original songs from the movie--the uncharacteristically syrupy "How Groovy" and the appropriately spooky "Alien Invasion"--make the cut. --Tammy La Gorce

We got the CD when promised and in the exact condition as promised. Thank you! It was perfect for my son's 5th birthday party which as a Scooby Doo Mystery party. We still love to listen to these songs. All songs are safe for preschoolers.

To be fair, I only bought this CD so I could get the song 'How Groovy' (sung by Shaggy in the movie). Most of the other tracks are Shaggy songs too but they're not as good. Louis Febre's score gets 1 track only and the final song is the Scooby Doo theme tune (sung by Shaggy again). I was kind of disappointed at this as in the movie it was sung by Jennifer Love Hewitt and I was hoping for her to be on the CD. She ain't.
If you want more of the score and less of the songs then try to track ... Read More

SCOOBY-DOO AND THE ALIEN INVADERS is the soundtrack to the video of the same name. The album was released around 2000, right around the time that Warner Brothers was revamping the classic franchise to make it more appealing to a youthful audience. The album contains 13 songs. Only two are directly from the video ("How Groovy" and "Alien Invasion"). Most of the others are remakes of classic "alien" songs, such as "Purple People Eater", "The Martian Hop", and "Mr. Spaceman". However, there are a new ... Read More
