Amazon.com: Charlie Brown gets rocks in his trick-or-treat bag, Linus awaits a visitation from the Great Pumpkin in his terribly sincere pumpkin patch (while the adoring little Sally sits tight with him), Snoopy falls asleep, Lucy harasses Schroeder, and Pig-Pen kicks up a dust storm even beneath his costume in this classic television broadcast. Funny stuff, but also graced with Charles Schultz's more poignant and gently satiric themes from the 1960s on the influence of faith, failure, and hope in our lives. --Tom Keogh

Although hundreds of Halloween TV specials bombard us each October with cartoons and shows but this is my personal all-time favorite. Charles Shultz was a visionary artist. He transcends time and race barriers to create these wonderful characters anyone can identify with. This one has it all! Wonderful hand drawn animation with warm watercolor backgrounds that capture the essence of Autumn so vividly along with the terrific scoring by jazz musician Vince Guarldi.

Thank you Warner Brothers for releasing a remastered version of this holiday classic. You all know the story so here are just a few comments about this new version. The picture is fantastic. The image is a little sharper and the colors really stand out when compared to the previous release. The look is no longer muddied. Also, right after the scene where Charlie Brown receives an invitation to the Halloween party, Linus carries a sign into the pumpkin patch and the scene fades to black for the ... Read More

I can still remember being a kid and looking forward to each big holiday--Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter--and the accompanying "Peanuts" specials that would usher in each of them. Glued to my television set, my heart would start skipping beats when I would see the CBS "Special" logo come flying out that would indicate the normal TV line up was being preempted.
That's how it was with IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN. I loved this cartoon and would watch it every year. This ... Read More

This came out in 66, and I was born in 67, so you can say, I grew up watching this classic tv show. I love the Peanuts gang, especially Snoopy. Im not going to go into what the Great Pumpkin is about, because all these other people have, but I will say that I watch it every season when it comes on tv, even now adays. No, Halloween will never ever be he same for me, I have no kids, no kids in my neighborhood trick or treat, because they all go to halloween carnivals, just as well I guess, because to be ... What can you say about this classic. Hearing Linus trying to convice everyone of the great pumpkin brought back some found memories of when I used to sneak and stay up past my bedtime a watch it. Charlie Brown classics are a always a sure fire hit.
