Fans of the amazing exploits of a certain literary phenomenon and wizardry student are bound to go whole-Hogwarts for the Harry Potter Trivia Game. This clever and challenging Q&A contest mixes a Slytherin scoop of Peeves the Poltergeist with the mechanics of Trivial Pursuit. As they round the circular track, players answer questions in five categories (one Places query asks, "What lies behind the 'Leaky Cauldron'?"), collect various Charms cards, avoid Curses played by opponents, and then return to their Houses to answer a final question. It's a cool game, definitely designed for hardcore Harry fans, but it has a couple of nice features for those who wouldn't know a Ravenclaw from a Hufflepuff. There are multiple-choice questions (though players score extra Charms if they answer without this option), and there's a Spell card that allows you to "think like Hermione." Play this card, and you get to answer another player's question. --Tony Mason

To win this game you basically have to have memorized the first book word for word. One question literally asks "what does Dumbledore say when the sorting hat comes out?" and you have to know his statement word for word. A fun game, but only if you really recently read the first book. Watching the movie will not suffice.

The first time I played Harry Potter Trivia I was so excited. I loved collecting the charm cards, answering the questions and racing to you house. After a while though, it go a bit boring because you kept getting the same questions after you had gone around the whole pack. Now, if someone asks me to play Harry Potter, I will say yes but it isnt as much fun any more.

I sit here writing this review somewhat humbled and a lot embarrassed because despite my respectable IQ and my "too many to mention" Birthdays, I have just been trounced in a rousing game of Harry Potter Trivia by my 8 year old son! True, said 8 year old son is really an 28 year old in an 8 year olds body, but the truth of the matter is this...he beat me 2 games out of 3...and with no effort upon his part! In fact, I think he threw the last game just so I wouldn't feel too badly!

I'd like to say that this game was very exciting when I first played it. I knew every answer as I know Harry Potter so well. I think anyone who likes Harry Potter should buy this game. It also tells you some things you might not have known about the books. I think that this game is worth a ten out of five for it's excellent quality and is also one of the funnest board games for families. Whoever reads this review should immeadiately consider buying the game. Thank you.
