Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: While the inclusion of novelty songster Weird Al Yankovic (here with "Polkamon") and new-waver all-stars the B-52's (here with the playful "The Chosen One") sharpens the proceedings with their individual visions, most of the performers here have been coached by producer David Foster or other music industry veterans. Most successful is former disco diva Donna Summer, who emerges with the dramatic tune "The Power of One," which sneakily includes the Pokémon theme featured throughout the film. Twelve-year-old Alysha may be a burgeoning teen star with her surprisingly mature interpretation of "Dreams." The emphasis is on the current teen-pop trend. Dream Street, Christian boy band Plus One, and O-Town (the band documented in ABC's TV series Making the Band) all serve up the prescribed recipe for success: swooning harmonies, Hallmark-card lyrics, and near-operatic melodies designed for radio. You expected a movie starring Pokémon to miss a trend? C'mon. --Rob O'Connor

I find it interesting. Polkamon is the reason I bought it. I like many other tracks like chosen one, blakh blah blah, comin to the rescue, dance of the bellosom, the legend begins, and a little of Pokemon world. Pokemon world isn't the remade version for the movie, so if you liked that version, it's great. The slow songs bored me though. It's good, but only if you are hard core Pokemon.

My favourite songs of this soundtrack are:
Dream Street "They Don't Understand";
Angela Via "Wonderland" (she's very pretty voice!!!);
Laura Pausini (Italian singer!!!) "The Extra Mile";
Youngstown featuring Nobody's Angel "Pokemon World".

My son, who is 9, saved his money to buy this CD and is absolutely thrilled with it. When we are on a trip and it comes around to his CD pick this is always his first pick. Even my husband and I don't mind the songs although we do direct the music to his speaker so we hear it a little quiter.

There are sixteen tracks on this CD, but only fourteen are pop vocal tracks. The last two tracks on the disc are score pieces (one is from the "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure Short," while the other comes from the actual film). The score piece from the short is done in such a way that it fits in with the pop vocal tracks. However, the score piece from the film stands out like a sore thumb in comparison to the other tracks on the disc.
Most of the artists included on this disc make it ... Read More
