Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: DJ Quik may not be hip-hop's most enlightened rapper, but credit the man for consistently dropping some of the slickest, funkiest tracks out there. In a world that's gotten more choppy and frenetic thanks to Mannie Fresh, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz, it's nice to know that you can still get your gangsta groove on with DJ Quik. On his latest, he hits you with nearly 20 tracks of the wettest bass lines and smoked-out synthesizer melodies, even dedicating a track ("Roger's Groove") to one of his musical mentors, the late Roger Troutman of Zapp fame. And yeah, he's talking a lot of trash about pimpin', smoking indo, and the whole nine, but just close your eyes and ease into his vibe. --Oliver Wang

DJ Quik is easily one of my favorite producers of all time. He should have been given more credit for starting that G-Funk craze in the early 90's as Dre and Above The Law did. Fast forward to 2000, DJ Quik has 4 albums under his belt before him. He produces his own albums and beats, and is consistently great behind the boards. This album is no exception. He still keeps it funky, but updated for the 21st century. The beats are more electronic and deeper in bass, somewhat similar in some ways ... Read More

When has DJ Quik given you a bad album? Never! DJ Quik as a rapper has an impressive and witty style that is outrageously slept on plus he is at the top of his game because he refuses to go out like all these other pop icons in the game. DJ Quik as a producer is scorching hot. His beats are innovative and they never get redundant sounding. Just Genius. Standout Tracks: CHANGE DA GAME, DID YA'LL FEEL DAT, PITCH ON A PARTY, I DONT WANN PARTY WIT U(still funny till this day), U AINT FRESH(Quik and Kam ... Read More

I liked all of Quiks albums, even 'rhythamalism' which grew on me. But I only really like a few of the tracks on this one and couldn't really get down with it as much as I wanted to. Which is sad because I always felt quiks music ten times more than anyone else except this time round. I still have respect for him and rate him better than dre even if I aint digging him that much because I know he puts a lot of work into his sh#t. He was starting to go into different directions on this album, and thats ... Read More

Although this is not the fan favorite of Quik's albums, this, personally, is my favorite. After I heard the album, I felt like this was DJ Quik's most mature album when it comes to lyrics and also production. Some of the beats that he has on here aren't as fonky as the ones that he had on previous albums, but a lot of things that are done musically don't really stand out to other people. The song that I am most impressed with is "Well" which includes a guest appearance by Raphael Saadiq and places Quik ... Read More

I give this cd a 4.5. It's not his best, but it's still DAMN good. DJ Quik is just simply amazing when it comes to producing an album. He has his own unique style, and the man cant be touched. He always adds a touch of old school and funk when he makes a track. On this album I think his rhymes are more mature, and thought out. So far the stand out tracks are:
Change da game
Did y'all feel that?

Pitch in on a party
I dont wanna party with u
