It's fun to play this original Super Mario game. It's my second favorite 2-D mario game.

Super Mario Bros. for NES is one of the best Mario games of all time. I don't understand why people criticize the graphics. What's wrong with them? The graphics are all right. I think they're downright cute, actually. The gameplay itself is where the game truly shines. Jumping on adorable 2D goombas is very fun and addictive. Personally, I love my NES and Super Mario Bros. This game is so so but the thing that kills it completely is the horrible, stupid controls. Mario seems to have greese on his boots as he always slides of edges and makes crappy jumps to his death no matter what you do. The graphics were pretty good for the time and the game is some what fun for about a half hour before it gets too repeditive to the point where you never want to see it again. You have to own this game if you have an NES. "Nintendo Entertainment System" Buy the one with duck hunt. It's a better value.

It's no wonder why Mario became so popular after this game was released. The level design is fantastic, the graphics and sound are great for it's time, and Mario gets a few nice power-ups. I don't like all the really old games that much, but this game is definitely the greatest game of the 80's. It's still pretty fun to play it today. I rate this game 89/100.
