Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Pop musician and film composer Danny Elfman continues his longstanding collaboration with director Tim Burton (Elfman made his movie music debut way back in 1985 on Pee-Wee's Big Adventure) with Sleepy Hollow. For Burton's cinematic take on the ghoulish Washington Irving classic, Johnny Depp stars as Ichabod Crane, while Elfman does his best to create some truly frightful mood music. Needless to say, he succeeds. Dramatic string passages, crashing percussion, and a children's choir all contribute to this eerie movie score that never settles on a singular theme. "Into the Woods" is the disc's creepiest moment, where the sounds of strings, brass, and a choir create a web of suspense. There are no dull moments here; whether driving and powerful ("Introduction") or mysterious and ethereal ("Sweet Dreams"), Elfman's score is--as usual--superb. --Jason Verlinde

This score is the best part of Sleepy Hollow. As far as I am concerned, Danny Elfman's score IS the star of this film, not any of the actors. His music is an essential part of the movie. And yet, it is a creepy heart pounding adventure that stands alone. I liked the movie, but I absolutely loved the score. I purchased it from Amazon the very next day.
I highly recommend that every one else does too, before the Halloween rush.

Beautiful music from Danny Elfman who created more music for Tim Burton movies. This music is typical for Tim Burton style. It gives you the eerie sound of that fantastic and beautiful fairy tale Sleepy Hollow.

This soundtrack is very good full with eerie and great music. The reason i gave this 4 stars is because the main theme (which is catchy) is in almost every song, which makes the theme get very annoying. I just wish that the main theme wasnt used in every single song, if it wasnt i would have gave this a 5 star rating. But this is still a very good soundtrack, good job Danny

This is one of my favorite film scores from Danny Elfman, along with Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Edward Scissorhands. It's dark, freaky, and gives you a feel of what 18th Century New England was like. The echoing voices from the choir gives me chills, and the instrumental sounds are frightening. All in all, I give this score an A- slightly because of the track "Evil Eye," which sounds a bit tedious to me.

Danny Elfman is a role model to me, just like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. His music can perfectly describe the movie that it is in and every scene of it. I never really noticed this one, but it is really good. I wish I had seen the movie. This is a great addition to any Danny Elfman collection.
