This 15 piece swing band playing in New York City and its environs for over five years plays in the "Harlem style" one which is looser and blusier allowing for a greater degree of spontanity and creative freedom. The group plays regularly at Wells in Harlem next to where Count Basie started out. The band is an amalagum of young swing turks and veteran luminaries such as Sol Yaged, Tootsie Bean, Eddie Bert , and Al Bryant. These men were on the bandstands with such greats as Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson, Earl Hines, and Erskine Hawkins. This is the real McCoy , full of feeling, played the old style without the commercial polishing.
