From Star Fox's laser pistol to Link's hook shot, each character's trademark special abilities are utilized to knock one another off the screen. The game does a great job balancing the characters' widely differing powers so that no one character has an insurmountable advantage. The sound and animations are also dead-on: Donkey Kong is a huge, cartoonish ape, while Link is much more detailed and realistic. And Pikachu's famous thunder shock attack is accompanied by a fearsome yell of "PIKA!"
Unlike most fighting games, Super Smash Bros. allows you to team up with a computer partner and take on other teams in both single and multiplayer modes. But the most fun is had when four human players play in a battle royale. The game quickly becomes a scene of incredibly fun chaos: picture Mario beating up on Luigi, while Donkey Kong is chased by a scampering, sledgehammer-wielding Pikachu. This was one of my first video games i played.Its addeticing, great graphics for a nintendo 64 game,all the charaters have diffrent moves and abilites.Theres all kind of wepons and POKO BALLS!I have the ps2, and ps3, and i still play this game.And do u no why,BECAUSE THIS GAME IS SO FUN!

Having zero expectations, I found myself trying to beat the game with every character and having fun at nearly every moment.

In 1999, Nintendo had never really put all their leading mascots in a game together. They might have had cameos or easter eggs, but they were never playable together. Super Smash Bros changed that. It not only put some of Nintendo's greatest characters up against one another, it invented a completely new style of gameplay for fighting games that is still, to this day, unmatched.
