I first came across the Ozarks with the It's Alive Album in the seventies.I didn't think the boys could release a better live album than that one but this one displays the Ozarks music in a more diverse way.There's magical guitar rifts on River to the Sun(reason enough to buy the album)Beauty in the River sounds fresh and new,better than the studio version.Sonora is a standout.This is a great somg that was never released,it's a must for all Ozark fans.There's even a great boogie number to finish ... Until A&M Records decides to release the remainder of the Ozarks' albums, this potpourri of hits and oddities, recorded live at the onset of the bands career, will be the "must have" CD for OMD fans worldwide.
The truly amazing thing about this album is the quality of the recording. I actually rivals many contemporary live albums in production quality.

Recorded live in Missouri on consecutive nights in March, 1973 this disk captures the Daredevils in full control and on the verge of breaking into the big time. A couple months later, they signed with A&M and headed to England to record their first album.

In 1978 A&M Records released The Ozark Mountain Daredevils Double Album "Its Alive". For those unlucky enough not to have that "Live" Ozark experience, this is the next best thing. Released in 1997 by Archive Recordings this CD features a selection of recordings taken from around 1973 in Missouri at the Cowtown Ballroom, Kansas City & The Kiel Opera House in St Louis.
