I first heard this album in 1975. I get very warm memories of the multiple playings of it. Of course I was only 8 years old at the time. But still, I will retain a smidgen of objectivity as I ramble about this brilliant work from the Monkees'catalog.
I think, although it was sneaky of Colgems at the time, it was a wise move to hold out on the album release of the classic "Daydream Believer" because that provided this album with a number one hit and the only example of Peter Tork's efforts ... Read More

This album is more of an individual effort by each of the Monkees, and does not have as many rock songs as their previous albums, but there are some great songs like Auntie's Municipal Court and Tapioca Tundra.

The Birds, the Bees & the Monkees is thirty-seven minutes long and was released on April 22, 1968. The only song that Peter Tork is featured in is Daydream Believer. The Monkees were no longer playing as a foursome and decide ... Read More

I love this album - from my old Colgems LP to this great re-issue. But when will Rhino give this album the Deluxe Edition treatment? I LOVE the deluxe copies of the Monkees first 4 albums and would love to have the rare mono mix of 'Birds & Bees...' on CD!
Rhino, how about it...?

I certainly can't speak for the rest of the teeny boppers who spent their allowances on these 45's & LP's but I played Tapioca Tundra as often as Valeri so some of us got it.
I always used to skip Davy's sappy songs ... Read More
