Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Solid but not great
This album is more of an individual effort by each of the Monkees, and does not have as many rock songs as their previous albums, but there are some great songs like Auntie's Municipal Court and Tapioca Tundra.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - So long Peter
The Birds, the Bees & the Monkees is thirty-seven minutes long and was released on April 22, 1968. The Birds, the Bees & the Monkees reached #3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album charts and #4 on the Cashbox Charts. This was The Monkees first album not to reach #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album charts and their last with Peter Tork; if you don't count their soundtrack album Head. I certainly can't speak for the rest of the teeny boppers who spent their allowances on these 45's & LP's but I played Tapioca Tundra as often as Valeri so some of us got it.
I always used to skip Davy's sappy ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Didn't know how talented they were
This CD is an eclectic blend of maybe not so known Monkees songs. The most interesting and haunting tunes were written and sung by Mike Nesmith. He even used some special sound effects that gave authenticity to the song Magnolia Sims. I love this CD. It is not bubble gum music that you may expect.
