I thoroghly enjoyed the music, but I had a great deal of trouble getting past the weird dual-channel monaural audio mix. No one has come out and stated it as far as I can tell, but this is a MONO recording -but somewhere during the production of the CD the highs were shifted towards one channel while the deep bass was shifted towards the other.

I lOVE this album, and additional volumes would be great, I understand Neal wants to do more, but there are problems with copyrights and all that stuff with writers and etc. So it might be awhile before more albums
are produced. But it still could happen, Look how long it took star trek soundtracks (classic series) to be produced.

This was perhaps the most interesting sci fi series in history. They used sci fi fables--stories to make a point, often anti-war, or anti-violence, challenging conventional wisdom of the day.
It started with Vic Perrin's haunting voice, "There is nothing wrong with your television set," perhaps predating data. There was no "There's," or "We'll control."

The first volume is tremendous! I just found out today, that a new 3cd set is being released from Dominic Frontiere's personal archives!! It will contain cues from several of the first season Outer Limits shows. Available from Buysoundtrax now, Amazon will probably pick it up soon. As an aside, the first season of "The Invaders" was just released on DVD, and Frontiere did the great music for that, even cannabilizing some Outer Limits cues for the Invaders! Very cool!!

like many others who like this cd, i am disappointed that more volumes are not due to come out. i wouldn't necessarily mind more sound effects either, but it comes to a choice between them and the music i will certainly choose more of the music.
now, if only someone would releaase the scores and underscores of hoyt curtain (composer for Hanna Barbera)... there was another genius of mood music, the kind that can stand on its own, no visuals needed.
