I really liked this cd -- I actually hadn't seen the movie in a LONG time and listened to the cd first and it paints such a vivid picture that I could easily recall many of the scenes in the movie that corresponded to the music. And take away the fact that its a soundtrack and the songs are still really great.

As a child we all have a movie that we will watch over and over and over until the tape or dvd is just worn down so much you can no longer watch it. I did thaqt with only 3 movies as a kid, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice. After seeing Pee Wee's Big Adventure, I came to the conclusion that I enjoy music as much as the movie. Seeing Michael Keaton as `Beetlejuice'
was quite a surprise and the music by Danny Elfman... set the mood for the weirdness only Tim Burton could think of. Could have used an accordian but hey, it's Danny's work. Go Danny.

the music is fun, whimsical, and out of the ordinary.
i like pop and rock, but sometimes you just need good music without the lame lyrics.

This certainly is Danny Elfman. My favorite tracks are Main Titles, Travel Music, and The Fly. The Main Titles is a fun bouncy song with a dash of mischievous comedy. It sort of binds the whole album together. The Travel music is probably, yes, the happiest sounding track on the CD. The Fly was a very cool sound, with real low piano playing reminded me of the fly scene in the movie.
