Especially for Psych buffs or just watching people to
find out how they tick. Dated a bit (1983).

This movie was fantastic. It was made in a more innocent time before AIDS, stalking laws and all of the scandelous relationships between patients and doctors were plastered all over the media. Hell, there was'nt even such a thing as sexual harrassment back then. I look at the film now and somehow feel sentimental for a period when we did'nt know how dangerous a place the world could be. I am not a Dudley Moore fan, but this is one of his performances that rings true. It is a love story, unabashedly, and is told in a gentle, loving way. There are laughs, but often not far from tears, and would make a wonderful date movie.

For those of you who love this beautiful score, one half-hour of it is available on the Varese Sarabande CD "Sister Mary Explains It All" by Philippe Sarde, which contains the title score, "Lovesick" and selections from "The Manhattan Project" The CD is worth the purchase for "Lovesick" alone. Although long out of print, it can be purchased on iTunes.

I enjoy most projects done by Dudley More and that includes this movie.
At times it seem like a bit of struggle for the actors to bring life to this average script.
The real gem in this movie is the score (soundtrack) which is beautiful.
Disappointingly at this point, I can't find it anywhere on CD.
