Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The first Stooge short for Columbia and two classic comedies
"Woman Haters" has the distinction of being the first of the Columbia shorts for which the Three Stooges are best remembered and which made their comic reputations, even more so than their six feature films. The title credit for this 1934 effort went to Marjorie White, a budding young star who died shortly after filming was completed, with the Stooges getting billing as Moe, Larry, and Curly. However, the problem with this short is that for some reason Columbia decided to do all of the dialogue ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A weak short, and two excellent shorts.
WOMAN HATERS is the first Three Stooges film made at Columbia. This, however is a bad start for the Stooges. The whole short is done in rhyme. I've never liked Three Stooges shorts that have background music, but it really takes the cake here. Every second of this short has background music, which really wasn't necessary. Columbia must've spent a fortune writing this entire script in rhyme. Every Stooge fan should avoid this film.

THREE LITTLE BEERS, on the other hand, was extremely funny. ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Somewhat of a suprising debut.
This is a cool stooge short. I would not want to be in Larry's shoes in this episode. I was suprised at how young they looked. This film was completely said in rhyme or sung. I was suprised to find out Moe did not give the first eyepoke. This is the first of 97 stooge shorts Curly would be in before he would have a stroke in 1947. Three Little Beers is a classic stooge short. My favorite scene is when Larry is up in a tree. A barrel hits a rock and bounces up into the tree. It hits Larry and he goes flying ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - WOMAN IN THE BEER TASSELS
WOMAN HATERS (1934) - A very interesting short, since this is the very first Three Stooges short ever. However, it's very strange. All the lines are done in rhyme, there's music in the background for the whole short, the Stooges' have actual character names in the film, Marjorie White gets star billing. The short deals with the Stooges joining the Woman Haters club, and vow never to look at another woman again. Larry ends up marrying a lady, however (Marjorie White), and tries to hide it from Curly and Moe ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - For You, For You My Life, My Love, My All
Yes that's the song that you will hear all the stooges singing in "Woman Haters" It was their 1st short for Columbia. And the whole short is done in song. Precessor to rap music, ha ha. They vow to never look or get married to a woman. Larry gets married and now he has to keep it from Moe and Curly.

"Three Little Beers" The boys are working for a beer company and end up going to a golf course and ruin it. This is the short with the famous line "You think you Georgy Worsh?" The just completely tear ... Read More
