Product Description: The world's most famous superhero, Superman's adventures protecting Metropolis have thrilled readers worldwide for over sixty years! When a rocket ship crashes to Earth, its occupant is revealed to be a small boy with incredible powers! Sound familiar? It does to Clark Kent, too - and as Superman he sets out to rescue...another Kryptonian survivor? But he's not alone! The government is also after this powerful child, as is Lex Luthor. In fact, the whole world is in danger - from the boy's parents, escaped Kryptonian super-criminals General Zod and Ursa! This all-new collection is written by Superman director Richard Donner, with Geoff Johns ("Infinite Crisis") and astonishing art by Adam Kubert ("X-Men")!

"Last Son" takes what could be a disaster and transforms it into a wonderful story. The "Superson" concept sounds like a terrible idea altogether, but the way it's presented here is just amazing. It does a wonderful job of intertwining it with the characters as they exist in the current DCU and is a very entertaining story. Zod's involvement is well done and there's a Mon-El cameo for you Legion fans. And Luthor, Parasite, and Metallo get some of the action as well.
This also has plot ... Read More

If you love Superman as I do, this is definitely something for your collection. Geoff Johns and Richard Donnor are brilliant together. They come up with a young character with a big heart and enough wisdom, you would THINK he's older than what he is. The graphics are great, especially the 3-D pages from the Phantom Zone. So if you love comics, if you love Superman and if you think Geoff and Richard are geniuses... then buy this!

Last Son is a nice little story, but I'm kind of sad that it didn't take place in the movie universe. I would have rather seen Donner's take on what happened after the second film. Instead, it's a seperate story where Zod and Kal-El have not met before. Overall, it was a nice little story, but it could have been longer. Chris is a nice addition to the Superman mythology. If you want a fast little Superman story, I'd recommend this. With time, the plot could have been way more in depth than it is and ... Read More

Superman Last Son is a surprisingly rollicking good romp of superhero goodness and a pretty fun and memorable superman story to boot. And believe me, in the long publishing career of this character, there are surprisingly (that word again) few excellent, memorable comic epics involving the Man of Steel, making Last Son all the more special. Although not a perfect collection, (I'll get to that in a bit), this story is definitely worth owning if you're a) a Superman fan; b) a Superman the Movie or Richard ... Read More

Like others have said this book is what Superman Returns should have been. Fun, action packed, and totally exciting. I'm not going to give a huge plot summary since other reviewers have it covered. I'm just going to say this is a very enjoyable read. The story suffered from over-hype syndrome, though. This was supposed to be some awesomely magnificent storyline, but due to delays and the overall dissatisfaction with the Superbaby from Superman Returns this storyline was criticized by fans. But none of that ... Read More
