NO major fighting with Optimus Prime!
I saw the awesome movie before I bought this book and I must say that it doesn't provide a lot of background or history of the Transformers as some readers would expect. I was hoping this book would give an extensive explantion of the events that lead to the beginning of the war between autobots and decepticons, but instead it only gives a brief telling using flashbacks. This is a fitting prequel to the Transformer Movie. It fills in some holes and clears up some of the questions that may come up in the movie. It was well written and illustrated.

I read all four issues that comprise this TPB online, and was fairly impressed witht the result. Basically, it tells the story of the Transformers before they come to Earth in search of the All-Spark, and how it ended up here. We see most of the movie cast of robots in their pre-Earth forms, and the differences in their appearance. We also see how Bumblebee lost his voice, in his first encounter with Megatron.
