Product Description: A day-by-day look at the years from 1965 to 1970 reveals the remarkably rich story of the Monkees, one of the most successful pop bands of the 1960s. The MonkeesÂ’ immensely popular television series began in 1966. It was immediately followed by a remarkable four consecutive Number 1 albums and six Top 10 singles. In the 1980s the Monkees reached an entirely new audience when MTV began re-running the TV show. Their cult status remains solid today as critics reassess their music and new fans discover the show. Follow the bandÂ’s short but explosive career in this examination that includes exclusive interviews with each member of the group, details of recording sessions, filming commitments, concert performances, other public appearances, and over 100 photographs and illustrations.

This is it! This is the case!
The case has been made by Andrew Sandoval for die hard Monkees fans that have had an unfulfilled appetite for a day by day playback into Monkees history. Even the casual Monkees admirer will appreciate the history, the pictures, the mania.
The Monkees were a band of four musician/actors created by Screen Gems. Fed up with the bubblegum pop sound generated by their producers on "The Monkees" and "More Of The Monkees" albums, the band gained creative ... Read More

Andrew Sandoval's book will join a small but exclusive group of others that look deeper into the phenomenal success of a TV show about a make believe band that sang songs by real writers, learned to play together while on the show and, in the end, became an actual band that sold records and stood the test of time.
The Monkees were a concept that played well, and with four young men who were well cast and meshed together into a cohesive ensemble that was immediately endearing, while irritating ... Read More

...as Mike Nesmith sang during Monkees concerts in 1967. This book sports a dismal, awfully designed cover...BUT the contents are amazingly researched, well organized and expertly written--the greatest monument to the career of THE MONKEES as far as text goes.An indespensible "must have" volume on one of the most maligned and misunderstood phenomenons of the 1960's. A stellar effort.

This is the greatest book ever written about The Monkees. It tells you everything you ever wanted to know and more. Andrew Sandoval is the ultimate Monkees historian, like what Mark Lewisohn is to The Beatles. Every Monkees fan should own this book.

Excellent, excellent job, Andrew! I never imagined that the Monkees would allow anyone to get this far into their world. Any Monkees fan would be pleased with this book. I've never seen many of the photos. Andrew has created a true labor of love and he is a super nice guy to boot! I just hope that he has other books in the works. God bless you!
