I got this kit for my daughter and the balloons' quality is very poor. They pop a lot, sometimes even when getting inflated. Twisting the balloons to make various shapes will almost always make them pop. Really, they should have put an extra .001mm of latex in the material to make them a little more durable. The pump is so-and-so, it worked OK for a while; now it squeaks a lot and is genreally hard to use.
My recommendation: get another kit...

I've gotton several books and this one's, well looney. The book is glued to the box, which makes it hard to look at and fold balloons. The pump is ok, balloons are the cheap kind. Some of the figures I've seen better of, but if you don't have any books then this one is fine. I mostly got it for the ABC's which my other books don't have, so I like it just for that.
