Product Description:
If your fondest TV memories involve the POWs of Stalag 13 cleverly outwitting their captors, Schultz stammering "I know nothing!" and Hochstetter threatening to send everyone to the Russian front, then this is the book for you. This fun and informative book takes you behind the scenes of the classic 1960s sitcom to reveal: · the story behind the creation, production, and eventual cancellation of the series · the controversy surrounding the show's unlikely premise · interviews with many of the show's stars and crew · biographies of the stars and supporting actors · a detailed guide to each of the 168 episodes · a guide to collecting Hogan's memorabilia · and more...
Hogan's Heroes is more popular now than ever before, especially in Germany, where it has become a surprising cult hit. In this book, most of the show's stars and behind-the-scenes personnel share their memories and reflect on the series' enduring popularity.

It's a great resource for the series, just too bad that there's not much in the way of photos in it. There's just a token few but it's obviously meant more as an episode guide than anything else. After searching the internet, it's the only book on the series that I can find so it is what it is. The information is accurate and useful. There's a tid bid of info regarding Hogan collectibles but no more than a paragraph about it. If this would ever be revised, I'd recommend adding color photos, ... Read More

this book gives some very good info. about the t.v. show Hogan's Heroes. great interviews with some of the cast, and nice articles about these that have passed on. lists of each show; plots, actors, writers, directors. my only problem with this book was the description on episode 60 . it said peace sign when they meant Winston Churchill's v for victory sign, which would have got a German soldier shot. they do have some real history in the book as well.

A wealth of information on all 6 seasons of Hogan's Heroes. You get a short description of each episode, broadcast dates (even the original times and competing TV shows),guest appearances, even some trivial bits- all worth reading.
Around half the book (first half) covers the stars themselves giving details about their lives and careers, even listing TV, Movie and other credits for them. This part also has stuff on the writers/producers and the development of the series. I found this to have ... Read More

Wanting to bone up on "Hogan's Heroes" after giving the entire first season a viewing (available at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007KIFK0), I picked up a copy of this book from the local library and gave it a read-through. I wasn't expecting anything different from it than I was from every other TV-show-tribute tome I'd read. And sure enough, much like the others, "Hogan's Heroes: Behind the Scenes at Stalag 13" is formatted in a manner that is very similar to the others. You've got'cher ... Read More
