As a kid many years ago, we played "Authors" which was "The" most popular indoor kids game of all. I learned early on many of the classic authors and their works. We, and our friends, used to pull out the cards everytime we had the chance, and when I grew up, went away to college and eventually married and started my own family, I searched for Authors to enjoy with my kids, but couldn't find it anyplace. I loved playing this card game with my brother and friends when I was a kid. When I saw it I had to have it.

I remember loving this game as a kid, and I still remember much about the authors in the deck 35-40 years later. I just gave this game to my own boys, ages 11 and 8, and they really liked it, too. On a recent trip, we played it in the airports several times to pass the time, and they always wanted to play more. My only complaint is that the instructions are not thorough. As a child, I played this game with my sister, and we knew who wrote what later when we were in school! I use the card game with my high schoolers, and they have a fun day when we play.
