***If you haven't read "Batman: Year One" and "Batman: The Long Halloween", then this won't mean much to you (also, read "Catwoman: When in Rome (Batman)").***
Following the phenomenon of TLH, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale return with a masterful sequel that closes the history of organized crime in Gotham City, the rise of the 'freaks', and the beginnings of the Dynamic Duo.
Alberto Falcone was discovered to have been the mysterious serial killer Holiday from TLH, and is set to be released ... Read More

Dark Victory is basically the same as The long Halloween, a continuation if you will, but also a seperate story in its own right that seems to mimick the same story telling that made Long Halloween a great read. So if you liked LH then you will also like this one, just be aware that its more of the same that you might not enjoy as much, because you have been there, done that.

I anticipated this to be awesome, and as always I wasn't disappointing. The Jeph/Loeb team up is on point, like always.

I really have no room to complain about this book besides my own personal issues with Robin.

Rather than using Robin for cheap gags and a weak sidekick, Loeb and Sale intertwine him with Wayne, drawing out their similarities and need for each other, culminating in a heartbreaking chapter in which the reader watches the two boy's mirror reactions to the death of their ... Long halloween was my second favorite book of all time. So of course I went into Dark Victory with high expectations. Luckily Dark Victory exceeded them. It wasnt better than Long Halloween but it was certainly almost just as good. It offers the most sentimental look at two face you will be likely to see. Batman is grieving the loss of Harvey and is questioning his lonely life style. For those of you who are turned off of a Batman story with Robin in it dont fret. Robin is hardly in it at all and when he ... Read More
