Product Description:
The perplexing plotlines and bewildering array of characters on the Emmy and Golden Globe award–winning television program Lost are analyzed and pieced together in this in-depth exploration. Both devoted fans and new viewers can approach the upcoming season with a solid understanding of events from Seasons 1 and 2 with the insightful commentary, copious episode analysis, and thoroughly detailed sections on the links between seemingly disparate events and each character’s back story. Questions such as How do the characters’ pasts intertwine? What do the animals on the island represent? and What is the religious, historical, and spiritual significance of the infamous number sequence 4 8 15 16 23 42? are addressed as well as the importance of the many literary references on the show. Cast member biographies and never-before-seen photos are also included.

This is a great book. Every lost fan should get it. It has pieces of information that I never would have noticed by just watching each episode. My only critism is that Nikki Stafford missed alot of things that happened in each episode, but other than that, it's a great book that's essential to every lost fan's book shelf.

I ordered this whilst in the Maldives, watching LOST episodes yet to come to my English homeland. The book appears to describe the episodes and the meaning behind the plot. I have yet to read it properly but first impressions are not good. The black and white tiny photographs are of poor qaulity, the layout is just blocks of texts, and the bits I did read were rather flat in style. I will dip into it again when I get braver.

The book contains some interesting background on the actors, but little to learn if you've watched the episodes a few times and read on-line blogs. Its format is easy to read and follow. My only real critique has to do with the "numbers." The author makes connections between the show's mystical numbers (4, 8, 15...) and seemingly everything under the sun. I don't think the majority of her number connections are pertinent, and to me they just seem silly, taking away from the appeal of the book. ... Read More

My daughter and I got "Lost" in the middle of Season 2, so we bought the DVDs for Season 1 & 2 and read the accompanying chapters from this book as we went along. Enlightening and fun! We hope Nikki Stafford will publish a book for Season 3 before Season 4 starts.
