Product Description: There is a void in the alternate universe that demands to be filled. Iliana Ghemor, the Cardassian operative who years ago was altered in both body and mind to replace Kira Nerys, dreams of fulfilling a prophecy that will mark her as the one true Emissary of that other reality -- a messianic figure who could lead her followers into an era of renewed hope...or an age of deepening darkness.
Ghemor's claim to the mantle of the Emissary is by no means certain, however, as the inexorable pull of providence tugs also at other souls who are swept into the vortex of the Prophets, the remote and timeless beings who have set these strange events in motion.
But the stakes are higher than anyone imagines: for the outcome of this struggle for the fate of one universe will ripple across many others, and become the key to unlocking a future that will prove to be the greatest trial yet for the heroes of station Deep Space 9.

The Soul Key is better than the last DS9 book but i didnt like this set of story line than others in the past.

This new book by Oliva Woods was as bad if not worse than her last book. The characters are bland and the story weak. Keeping up with the Kira's was almost impossible. I just really didn't enjoy one part of the book. No thrill to keep you reading. No characters to love or hate because none had any personality. Don't waste your money or your time.

After reading Olivia Woods previous book, "Fearful Symmetry", I was looking forward to reading her sequel, "The Soul Key". I was NOT disappointed!!!! I don't want to give the plot away. Suffice it to say, based on the cliff-hanger ending, I'm looking forward to reading the next installment!!! I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long!

First let me say, i'm not a big DS9 fan. However, with the drop in new Star Trek books in general, i'm reading everything. This was a slow read. I typically read a book a week but this took 3 to 4 weeks. The story line was "ok" but it just drug. Bottom line if you're like me you'll read anyway

The alternate universe stories provide us with a glimpse of what might have been. However this one becomes quickly confusing. I didn't know if the Cardassian Kira was acutally the Intendant Kira or the real Kira. I wonder if the idea from this came from the editor or was a creation of the author? After enduring three oversize trade paperbacks of mirrior universe tales, this was a stretch. I'd like to discover what events are unfolding in the current universe. A lot of story threads were left ... Read More
