Product Description:
Freed with a thought, the greatest menace to humanity, the Borg, are gone, absorbed into the Caeliar gestalt. But are they? Can this deadly menace that has hovered over humanity for decades truly be gone? Might some shadow of the Caeliar remain? The Federation decides that they have to know, and Starfleet is ordered to find out.

The Starship Voyager leads a fleet into a region of space that has lived in fear of instant annihilation for generations: the Delta quadrant, home of the Borg. Afsarah Eden -- the new captain of Voyager -- is charged with getting answers, to reach out to possible allies and resolve old enmities in the Delta quadrant.

The perfection that was given to the Borg was withheld from Seven of Nine. Left behind, she is living a twilight existence -- neither Borg nor human -- and slowly going mad. The whispers of the Collective, comforting murmurs she has always known, are replaced with a voice deep within her that keeps insisting she is Annika Hansen. Chakotay, the former captain of Voyager, offers to help Seven rendezvous with the ships that Starfleet Command has sent into the Delta quadrant, the probable destination of the mysterious Caeliar.

These are not the friendly stars of the Federation; the unknown and the unexpected are the everyday.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Star Trek Voyager: Unworthy
Unworthy is the latest in the Star Trek Voyager series. While I am not that familiar with the Star Trek Voyager novels, I've enjoyed watching Star Trek on TV. This latest installment, Unworthy, smoothly portrays the Voyager characters and introduces the new captain of the Starship Voyager, Afsarah Eden. Kirsten Beyer includes enough background that new readers can reasonably follow the story, although I felt that I would have benefited by having read the earlier book.

The characters' ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An excellent story worthy of any Trek crew
This is one of the best Star Trek book I've read in a long time. I haven't been too happy with how the various book series have carried on beyond the TV/Movie storylines- killing off characters, transferring them to different ships, etc... I'm not adverse to change but this ultimately leads to dozens of new characters that I as a fan will never care about as much and who take up more and more of the story. And, let's face it, the Science Fiction aspect is great but I read these books for the characters ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Intro to a New Voyager Crew
When Seven has a mental breakdown after hearing about the death of her beloved aunt, Chakotay resigns his commission to take care of her. He decides to take her back to Voyager to join a fleet heading back to the Delta quadrant, searching for answers to the recent Borg assimilation by the Caeliar. Shortly after arriving, the fleet comes across a cooperative of races that idolize the Borg. To make matters worse, there seems to be a saboteur on board, with an unknown agenda.

Besides Chakotay ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An enjoyable look at what happens to the Voyager crew after their return to Earth
It's been a long time since I have read a new Star Trek book but I could not pass up on this one because I always wondered what happened to the crew of Voyager after they returned to Earth. Little did I know Beyer had written Star Trek Voyager: Full Circle which I believe is the book right before Unworthy. Since I have not read Full Circle some things were a little confusing for me but you can still follow the story and really get pulled in. It was sad to read about a Voyager journey without Janeway ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Kept me up too late as I read it!
Starfleet's mission to the Delta Quadrant, led by a refitted Voyager, needs to arrive on time and in exactly the right place for it to do B'Elanna Torres any good. It's been two years since B'Elanna staged her own death, and that of her little daughter Miral, to protect the child from a Klingon sect bent on murder. Their reason? They think Miral has been born in fulfillment of a prophecy that they desperately want to prevent from coming true. With Tom Paris serving as Voyager's first officer, B'Elanna takes ...
