Product Description: An enemy so intractable that it cannot be reasoned with. The entire race thinks with one mind and strives toward one purpose: to add our biological distinctiveness to their own and wipe out individuality, to make every living thing Borg.
In over two centuries, the Federation has never encountered a greater threat. Twice Starfleet assembled and threw countless starships to stand against them. The Borg were stopped, the price paid in blood. Humanity breathed a sigh of relief, assuming it was safe. And with the destruction of the transwarp conduits, the Federation believed that the killing blow had finally been struck against the Borg.
Driven to the point of extinction, the Borg continue to fight for their very existence, for their culture. They will not be denied. They must not be stopped. The old rules and assumptions regarding how the Collective should act have been dismissed. Now the Borg kill first, assimilate later.
When the Enterprise manages to thwart them once again, the Borg turn inward. The dark places that even the drones never realized existed are turned outward against the enemy they have never been able to defeat. What is revealed is the thing that no one believed the Borg could do.

Don't believe the angry denunciations of Peter David's BEFORE DISHONOR; it's a thoroughly average Trek novel that is only being pummeled because the Trek gods chose to use it as the vehicle for killing off Kathryn Janeway. It's true that much of BEFORE DISHONOR is absurd (e.g., there's a spaceship that eats planets, a counselor who knows nothing about psychology, and a captain who endures constant badgering from subordinates), that it shamelessly rehashes old plots and themes (Again with the Borg! ... Peter David wrote Vendetta, the best Star Trek book ever. So I find it ironic that he has also written the worst one as well. This book was so boring, and pointless, that I felt angrier with every page I read. It was also painfully easy to predict what would happen at every plot point. What happened? Did he write it in one sitting? Did he forget about it until the day before it was due? Whatever the problem, this book just sucks. When I finished reading it, I left it where I sat. I feel bad ... This was the worst Star Trek book ever written. This very bizarre plot and completely outrageous ending is not worth the paper it is printed on. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!!!!!

This was awsome I could not put this down, Its momentum was constant so many characters we know they are all there but you got to read the book before this one first, "Resistance". It is a little slow but you need the info! Enjoy!!!

Peter David is a skilled author. The hugest problem with the 'remaining' TNG Cast, Picard, Crusher, Geordi and Worf is that they're so bloody comfortable with each other. How in the world do you create a good plot when the crew doesn't have anything to fuss over. The Mutiny was the kind of character interaction I was not anticipating . It was something new and really showed off what can be done with the character dynamics. I really like the new Counselor in particular. T'Lana's clashing personality reminds ... Read More
