Product Description: Tying into his other blockbuster stories of 2008 FINAL CRISIS and BATMAN: THE RESURRECTION OF RA'S AL GHUL, the legendary Grant Morrison confronts readers with the unthinkable: The death of The Dark Knight.
The troubled life of Bruce Wayne seems to spin out of control when his releationship with the mysterious Jezebel Jet deepens. Soon Bruce Wayne drops out completely, having seemingly become the victim of mental illness and abandoning his Batman identity for a life on the streets of Gotham City.
Capitalizing on the fall of their greatest foe, the Club of Villains begin a crime spree through the streets of Gotham that threatens to bring the city to its knees.

Grant Morrison has consistently disappointed comic book fans with his titles, including this title, "Final Crisis"and "52. He has mastered the art of jerking comic fans around & stringing us along for the purpose of selling more comics and worthless tie-ins.
Yes, promises are made and not kept, and the faithful blind fanboys that defend his work while reading these stories through rose-colored lenses just exclaim, "He's telling a bigger story and maybe he'll finish telling it later on." ... Read More

This was a pretty good book. It was drawn pretty well and if you really like Batman then you'll love this book. It goes to show you Batman is not only strong of body but also of mind.

I do not read the Batman comics as they are released, and while I do enjoy comic books/graphic novels, I'm far from steeped in their lore. I read RIP according to a program that a more knowledgeable friend of mine prescribed. First I read Batman: The Black Casebook, then I read the Batman comics that precede RIP and only then did I read RIP.
I doubt anyone could enjoy the book as much as I did without going through the same program or knowing a lot about Batman. The key to a work as good ... Read More

Grant Morrison is an excellent writer, having written JLA, the Invisibles, New X-Men, and We3.
Likewise, Tony Daniel is a phenomenal artist, having worked on Teen Titans, Spawn, and more.
Batman R.I.P. ...blows.
The artwork is passable, but not great. The story ...blows. Downright awful. Batman is beaten so quickly and so easily, it's laughable. And the addition of two more single-issue stories at the end, that not only have nothing to do with the R.I.P. story, ... Read More

In a world plauged by writers like Jeph Loeb and Mark Millar it's nice to know that really smart stories are still being told with comics.
But the biggest flaw is that readers need to know that this is part three of Grant's run which is one long story. There are still atleast two more trades to the run acording to Grant. But well worth the read. And I do belive Grant's run will be like Watchmen when it's all said and done with each time you read it you see new things you didn't see before.
