As out first time there - it was good to get a general overview of the place. The pictures in there was bad and showed no major attractions. And while they did write something for every ride/restaurant, I found their recommendation inaccurate and puzzling. There were many attractions and rides - that definetly was very poor - but the author would give them very high marks. I haven't read any other disney guides - but if I go again - I would not buy this author's book. I would try something else. ... Read More

I purchased this guide to give to my in-laws for a surprise Disney vacation (their first) -- and got a copy for myself! It presents a great overview of all Disney has to offer, plus time-saving tips and fun factoids (some of which I didn't know, even after 15+ visits to Disney). Great value and good carry size to take it with you.

I wasted my money on this book. It was not close to as informative as the Unofficial Guide. Yes there are color pictures but who needs them when you are going to visit the place yourself! Stick to the Unofficial Guide which gives you info on everything Disney and Universal Studios/ Islands of Adventure and SeaWorld.

As far as guide books go, I think this one is excellent. I always worry that when a book claims to be full of colour photos, it will be lacking in information. This is not the case. Somehow The Complete Walt Disney has managed to include 100's of beautiful photos while still finding room to fit in full-page descriptions about every ride, attraction and hotel etc in Disney. This guide was simply amazing. It is packed with detail, and yet is small enough to be able to carry around with you during a park visit.
The detailed information in this book allowed us to plan every day in advance, how we would enjoy each theme park that we attended. We were at Disney during the busiest time of year, and yet were able to really enjoy our vacation without ever sending more than 40 minutes in a single line, and in most cases much less than that.
