I remember this movie from my younger days and had to have it for my collection. It's a true story and wonderful film.

Amazingly, only the last 20 minutes of an almost 2-hour movie are sad, yet the whole movie builds up to that final dreadful situation, and you can't help but get emotional (that's a good thing, by the way. Everyone should get emotional every now and then.)

This is the story that inspired me to attempt to join the military. Couldn't though...flat footed. Anyway, back to the review. I have always loved this movie and when I saw this DVD, I had to get it. The commentaries are great and educational and the picture quality is fantastic. For those that love history and/or classic movies, buy this DVD. You will not be disappointed.
