this book is rather old and it shows. the business has changed a lot. the photography is suitably gritty and unflattering, but gives great atmosphere. the commentary by roswell comes across as simply the musings of a glorified regular customer. the introduction was very sexist and written like a detective novel. all in all, the book has no enlightenment value. it maintains an attitude of gleefully wallowing in the dirt and never has any sympathy for the men and women featured in it. it seems ...
