Editorial Review:
Product Description: Heroes with a Southern Gothic edge.
If New Orleans has earned its "Sin City" nickname for its debauchery, then its nearby sister Devil's Cape has earned its "Pirate Town" moniker for the violence and blatant corruption that have marred the city since its founding. A city where corruption and heroism walk hand-in-hand, and justice and mercy are bought and paid-for in blood, Devil's Cape is a city like no other.
Devil's Cape is a novel like no other. It blends the gritty crime novel with a heavy dose of the supernatural and weaves a tale of superhuman heroes and villains. Briskly written and highly readable, Devil's Cape will appeal to a wide audience.

Impressive first effort.
Also good to see a novel that is not trying to be an ironic, hip satire, which gets really old, really fast, especially if from the less talented.
This is most definitely not that, and much more in the Wild Cards tradition. In fact, if you moved some of that to Rogers' Louisiana corruption sink in Devil's Cape, it would fit right in to this story of gangsters and superhumans.

Wonderfully written! I didn't want it to end. I can't wait for Rob's next book.

Rob Rogers writes very well, and has a unique voice in this Big Easy superhero noir novel. The novel meanders alot, from different characters to different time periods, but stick with it if you can. It does settle down a bit, and tells a unique storyline that is something ... Read More

I am thoroughly enjoyed this book. While quite dark, it's a refreshing departure from the standard superhero fare out today.

From the reviews I read, I was expecting a really well-written and riveting story. But this has been one of the most obnoxious books I've ever read. It is true that the author has a gift for detailed description. But it was a little too detailed and very wordy and took away from the story's momentum. There was too much of it in between dialog, which I found annoying. I just wanted the story to move along. And a lot of the description was redundant. There were too many characters, and too many gangs. ... Read More
