Brian Bendis has to be the most unimaginative writer to be given free reign at Marvel. The vocabulary and pacing he gives to his stories are like if someone tried to write about how "real people" talk if the only life experience the author actually had was watching TV and listening to groups of ugly teenage girls try to assure each other that they're cool. Don't read the Mighty Avengers Secret Invasion books unless you have the other books that tie in. I don't and I found that this book on it's own doesn't make sense. Wasp's funeral?...umm, when did she even die? The first two Mighty Avengers collections with the Ultron Initiative and Venom Bomb are great. This...art not as good, missing pieces, not a lot of actual Avengers featured...not so much.

There were a lot that didn't dig Secret Invasion, but I did, and found it more satisfying than World War Hulk or Civil War were. In any case, Secret Invasion maestro Brian Michael Bendis' arcs on New Avengers and Mighty Avengers during the Secret Invasion run were quite good, as evidenced here in the fourth collected volume of Mighty Avengers, which collects the last five issues of the Secret Invasion tie-ins.
