After Kyle and Yost spent the last couple years writing the most relentlessly depressing comic in X-Men history, Marvel apparently decided it was time to stop killing their teenage mutants by the dozen. So here we are with yet another relaunch of the young X-Men concept (following New Mutants, Generation X, New Mutants again, and finally New X-Men - it's possible I missed something in there too).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent read
I was very impressed with this story. My initial expectations were that 1.) this book would be an extension of the stories from the New X-men line, and 2.) while this book might be entertaining, it would not play a pivotal role in the current X-universe. I was wrong on both counts. What is found in these five issues is an excellently crafted story from Marc Guggenheim, and beautifully illustrated by Yanick Paquette.
