The art is so unbearably mediocre you can hardly concentrate on the story. As if Messiah Complex wasn't bad enough. What has happened to this franchise?

Sins of the Father, the second collected volume of X-Men Legacy, continues to find writer Mike Carey (Hellblazer, Ultimate Fantastic Four) putting his own spin on old X-Men history and weaving it into the current events that are happening in the wake of Messiah Complex. This is really not for the faint of heart. Mike Carey's plan seems to be to cram in as much continuity as he can. For those of us who have been reading these stories for years, it's pure gold. For those who are more casual fans, this may come off as incomprehensible.
