I haven't really read a whole lot of Hulk comics, but once I saw Jeph Loeb as the writer I knew I had to read it. While this is far from Loeb's best work I did find it entertaining although lacking in depth. If you are expecting this to be as good as Loeb's take on Batman you will be sorely disappointed. I recommend Red Hulk anyway.

Red Hulk was a blast. One of my biggest complaints about today's comics is that they try to be too cerebral, they try too hard to be adult entertainment, worthy as art etc, but in the process (for me at least) loose all the fun and excitement that brought a lot of us to comics in the first place. If you're into Vertigo books, if you're into complicated (convoluted? ... Read More

For many long-time Hulk fans, this is a slap in the face in terms of quality storytelling, considering the previous storylines (Planet Hulk and World War Hulk) had more of a word count in the first 6 pages than all six issues in this trade.
Too many splash pages and horrible use of minimal dialogue, none of which fuels the mystery storyline about who the new Red Hulk is.
Marvel seems to have dropped the ball by dumbing down the Hulk title into a more simple, kid-friendly format. "Kid-friendly" ... Read More

Great art and action scenes, not much of a story though, kinda shallow. But for what it is, i enjoyed it. Dont expect a "Planet Hulk" or "World War Hulk" type of experience and you'll be fine.

The Avengers are investigating a very strange murder in Russia. It seems that someone, or something, killed The Abomination. There's a strange new foe on the loose, one that sizzles with radiation. But, while the Avengers are looking for him, he is looking for them, and he has found them.
I must admit to being somewhat disappointed with this graphic novel. The illustration work is excellent, and the book is filled with great fight-scenes. But, the problem is that the book doesn't have a discernable ... Read More
