i like the new avengers better then the original. this story is really good it could be a movie. i didnt like the artwork of the variant covers in the book but that doesnt take anything away from this book

An absolutely terrific opener. After the events of Disassembled the only way to carry on is with a story like this. Sensational art, great character development, and stunning story lines. A must own for any Marvel comics fan.

This story is slightly problematic in a number of ways, with one being that it has a hard time going along. Several characters haven't appeared within the comics collected,and their is a slight jumping around quality to me. The characters randomly find each other, and the settings jump from New York to the Savage Land for no real reason more than the writers wanting to set up a mildly overhashed S.H.I.E.L.D. is evil story line. From the ashes of the old Avengers rises another team of Marvel fan favorites both old and new. The first half of this book really shines and is packed to the gills with obscure vilains as much of it takes place during an island prison breakout insigated by Elektro.
