Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great book
Excellent package. The only problem for me was that I'm not familiar with X-Men canon enough to know what the Hellfire club and Cassandra Nova are - thus first ark in this volume ("Torn") was pretty hard to grasp. But once I did some Wikipedia digging and rereading the arc it became much better.
The ending of the saga really shines. Hope Whedon returns to this series someday and resolves all unresolved topic he left.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Astonishing
Collecting the second half of Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men, this book is the best the X-Men have been in YEARS. It's a truly astonishing conclusion to a fantastic run.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - When Intelligent Writing Meets Beautiful Art
Joss Whedon continues to impress me throughout this series. He touches on deep and interesting subjects, such as Colossus's and Kitty's love. Not only is that fun to read, but the Emma Frost revelation made my heart skip a beat. The title of the series is the most appropriate for itself. These X-men stories are Astonishing!

The humor, action, and suspense hold this thing together strong. It is really hard to find dialogue as valuable as these through the history of comic writing. ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Hardcover
When I read Astonishing X-men vol. 1 ''Gifted'', I was amazed. It was such a great story, with ''astonishing'' art. The rest of the run is good, very good, but... I just can't explain, it's not a match to the first one. Nevertheless, good read.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good, But The First One Was Better
I've bought this book becouse the first one was really amazing. Great story and art, great pacing. This volume is good, but not as great as the one before. Worth reading.
