Product Description: The lives of Peter Parker and everyone close to him change forever! Haunted by unsettling dreams. Disturbed by a growing sense of dread. Convinced that people are out to get him. A portrait of someone on the edge of a nervous breakdown? Nah. Simply a typical day for Peter Parker, as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man must contend with a new and deadly opponent named Tracer, self-defense lessons with Captain America and some disturbing news that will change his life in a distinctly negative manner. This is the startling super-story that turns the wall-crawler's world upside down and setting the stage for the year to come! Collects Amazing Spider-Man #525-528, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1-4 & Marvel Knights Spider-Man #19-22.

This comic adds some new life to the Spider-Man mythos. The character of Morlun is delightfully evil, and Peter's spirit-walk toward self-actualization would make Jung proud. A definite buy.

The idea of The Other is clever, if not vague, but the varied quality of art styles in this TPB distract from a story that already had its problems.
I wasn't reading Spider-Man at the time this storyline took place(it took Civil War to turn me back onto ASM) and this story would not have been a good jumping on point. To me the first 5 volumes were either decent, good, or great. *Loved volume 4-5 the most* Where's the following volumes felt a little weak when comparing. Because the whole feeling of the previous chapters kinda died away. And the conclusion doesn't seem complete here.
All in all it's entertaining but without spoiling to much. It could of been better.

I love Peter David, I love Straczynski, and Hudlin is fine, but this feels like a big add for each participants other works. You really find yourself not caring for any of the characters. It was a road to hell littered with good intentions.

I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. I think what makes him so great is that he is just a man. Even with all of his powers, Peter Parker has to deal with everyday life, more so than in other comics. And here Spider-Man evolves. Into something more? I'm sure the Marvel writers will have more to do here. I expect great things in the future of one Peter Parker, Spider-Man.
