Product Description:
Pax Galactica. Enemies become allies. Old secrets are at last revealed. Long-held beliefs and widely accepted truths are challenged. Man turns to leisurely pursuits.

In this golden age, two old friends are drawn together. They seek to understand, and wonder how what they have long believed, what they have been taught, was never so.

Over two hundred years ago, the life of one of Starfleet's earliest pioneers came to a tragic end, and Captain Jonathan Archer, the legendary commander of Earth's first warp-five starship, lost a close friend. Or so it seemed for many years. But with the passage of time, and the declassification of certain crucial files, the truth about that fateful day -- the day that Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker III didn't die -- could finally be revealed.

Why did Starfleet feel it was necessary to rewrite history? And why only now can the truth be told?

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Blank pages are unreadable...
I can't really speak for the story itself, which was really good up until around page 328, when I ran into 20 (give or take) blank pages. I couldn't finish reading the story. This is the third book, from the Pocket Books publisher, I have purchased which was missing ink on the pages.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Bad idea, good execution.
This is a well-written, enjoyable read. Unfortunately, the basic concept behind it -- the writers didn't like something that happened on the series, so they wrote a book to "fix" it by claiming that it was all faked history, created by the infamous Section 31 to hide their undercover activities -- doesn't ring even slightly true. This is the same sort of "author wish fulfillment" that we used to get in amateurish novels about the original series in which Kirk (or Spock) inevitably fell in love with ...

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A schmaltzy adventure into Romulan space.
I was sorely disappointed when "Enterprise" ended after a short four season span. The show was picking up a great deal of steam since the Xindi story arc. But more regrettable than Trek's departure from television was the way in which "Enterprise" was ended. "These Are the Voyages..." had a plot that felt thrown together, far-fetched, and ultimately dissatisfying. Trip's death, a fan favorite character, seemed more than unnecessary; Riker and Troi's presence were equally gratuitous. Ending the show ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Guess it's good enough
Was it good, it was ok. Jake and Nog, well better than Wesley. Did it make sense, no. Did it try to, not really. It served it purpose. It gave a reason for the abomination that was the last episode of the series. If the ending for the series still sticks like gum to your shoe then this book will help wipe it off. Way too much Archer, should have focused more on Trip. Standard annoying chapter sequence switch per character for no other reason than thats what writers do now.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent Book
I had watched Enterprise when it was on UPN and loved it. I shared the sentiment of many (including some cast members) over the disappointment of the series finale. I started watching it again on HDnet and remembered why I loved the show. Then I found this book, and in this book it basically remedies most of the bad mistakes that take place in the finale. I was always a huge proponent of the relationship between Trip and T'Pol. I knew it was always a relationship that was bubbling under the surface of ... Read More
