I've read all of the Darkyn books and this is the best so far. I've read just about every paranormal book thats came out in the last 10 years and this book ranks as one of my top 10 favs.

This is very good book. I love in books how they take historic events and twist them so they work for the characters in the book. This one is no different. You wont be disappointed.

This is my first Viehl book, first taste of the Darkyn...and I don't think it is my cup of tea.
First of all, I thought it was a paranomal romance, but there is very little interaction between the main characters (Jayr and Bryne). Heck, 2/3 of the book isn't even about them. And within whatever pages left, their interactions were just...blah! Viehl writes awesomely, and her plots are still full of twists and surprises that holds you in awe. I use to love all her books, but this one I didn't like that much as the previous ones, but I still love it (the others got five stars, this one four), because I didn't got to relate to Byrne that much and it took me a little time to grow attached to his suzerain, who ended being an appreciated character.
