Product Description:
Following a trail of clues across the galaxy, Luke Skywalker continues his quest to find the reasons behind Jacen Solo’s dark downfall and to win redemption for the Jedi Order. Sojourning among the mysterious Aing-Tii monks has left Luke and his son Ben with no real answers, only the suspicion that the revelations they seek lie in the forbidden reaches of the distant Maw Cluster. There, hidden from the galaxy in a labyrinth of black holes, dwell the Mind Walkers: those whose power to transcend their bodies and be one with the Force is as seductive and intoxicating as it is potentially fatal. But it may be Luke’s only path to the truth.

Meanwhile, on Coruscant, the war of wills between Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala and the Jedi Order is escalating. Outraged over the carbonite freezing of young Jedi Knights Valin and Jysella Horn after their inexplicable mental breakdowns, the Jedi are determined to defy Daala’s martial tactics, override Council Master Kenth Hamner’s wavering leadership, and deal on their own terms with the epidemic of madness preying on their ranks. As Han and Leia Solo, along with their daughter Jaina, join the fight to protect more stricken Knights from arrest, Jedi healers race to find a cure for the rapidly spreading affliction. But none of them realize the blaster barrel is already swinging in their direction–and Chief Daala is about to pull the trigger.

Nor do Luke and Ben, deep in the Maw Cluster and pushing their Force abilities beyond known limits, realize how close they are–to the Sith strike squad bent on exterminating the Skywalkers, to a nexus of dark-side energy unprecedented in its power and its hunger, and to an explosive confrontation between opposing wielders of the Force from which only one Master–good or evil–can emerge alive.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Surprisingly Good!
Troy Denning resists his demons from past Star Wars novels and writes a story that I couldn't put down. Chapter Twenty-Two by itself is worth the 4-star rating. A refreshing change from that Dark Nest crap!

The book doesn't get 5 stars from me b/c Denning is still giving in to old habits that we saw during the Vong series. Namely, he keeps trying to UNwrite the books the preceded his, by writing open threads into dead-ends. AND, he keeps trying to inject the aforementioned Dark Nest ...

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Oh No here we go again
I keep coming back to this series of books because frankly I grew up with these charactors. Frankly, the series keeps getting more and more outlandish and lacks snap. Luke exiled learning force powers that no one else has had...except for Jacen. Most of them he never really used and now we are finding how noble he was in his quest to gain power. Really, so the killing of all those people was just incidental. Find and slant and stick to it. At least be consistent and keep from going back and forth. He ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Best Of The Series So Far
After a promising beginning with "Outcast", the tempo of the "Fate of the Jedi" series slowed somewhat in the 2nd installment, "Omen". However, Troy Denning has got the series back on track with a action-packed third installment, "Abyss".

Action lies on different fronts. On Coruscant, the battle between the Jedi and Chief of State Natasi Daala continues to escalate. More and more Jedi are falling victim to a strange psychosis, and Daala has it in her mind to bring the Jedi under State ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great book
I have been a star wars fan for a long time. And this book has lived up to the star wars reputation.
But you want to read the books before this so that you can follow the story line and understand what is going on.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pleasant Surpirse
I have not finished the book yet, but it definitely more engaging that the previous two installments in this series. The dialogue is more interesting, the characters fleshed out better and overall much more appealing.

As an added bonus, my book ordered from Amazon came with a surprise. On the inside cover it is signed "To One Lucky Fan, Troy Denning." I have no way of knowing if this signature is legitimate, but I am assuming it is unless shippers from Amazon like to mess with people.
