Product Description: No war can last forever. Now, in the long and punishing battle between the defiant champions of the New Jedi Order and the juggernaut that is the Galactic Alliance, the endgame is finally at hand. With so much lost–and nothing less than the course of the future still at stake–there can be no turning back. No matter the consequences.
The rebel cause is losing ground under the twin blows of Admiral Gilad Pellaeon’s assassination and the death of Mara Jade Skywalker. At the same time, having gained the support of the Imperial Remnant and its ruthlessly efficient forces, the Galactic Alliance, with the extraordinary power and dark brilliance of newly ascendant Sith Lord Darth Caedus at its helm, may be unstoppable. Tormented and torn between the call of duty and the thirst for vengeance, Luke has searched the Force and beheld an unspeakable vision of the galaxy enslaved under tyranny more monstrous than even Palpatine’s. Now it seems that the last, best hope lies in mobilizing the scattered Jedi for one decisive search-and-destroy mission. The objective: eliminate Darth Caedus.
It’s a plan that will be as difficult and dangerous to execute as it is daring. For Caedus is a scion of both the Skywalker and Solo bloodlines whose command of the Force surpasses even that of his grandfather
Darth Vader. There is only one who is bound by destiny to stand against him in what will surely be a duel to the death, only one with an outside chance of bringing down the dark lord who was once Jacen Solo.
Failure is not an option. The furious final moments between power and peace are here, and whoever confronts Darth Caedus will decide the outcome–and the fate of those left standing.

I've been trying think for a few days now on how to write a compelling review for the wrap up of this series, and quite honestly, I'm still wondering if I missed the true ending or holding out for a non-existant 10th book in the series.
What started out as such a strong and ivigorating injection back into the SW universe after the Vong war, seems to get short changed and rushed here at the end. The more I think about this series, the more I come to the conclusion that the last few books ... Read More

First of all, let me tell you that this ending, while getting a lot of negative reviews is actually quite good. If you take the story that is presented, the characterization which develops, the pacing, and overall movement, this is a very good book. If you look at this book as merely a means to tie up a million loose ends, well, you are out of luck. This series has been hindered with enough loose frayed ends to a million threads already. I feel that this clean, streamlined approach to the ending left ... Read More

This actually is a review concerning the whole of the Legacy of the Force Series. As it concerns 9 books in total, it's pretty obvious some are better than others. On the whole the series really is based on a rather sloppy and simplistic plotline: son of famous couple turns bad and dark, fueled by the most selfless of emotions namely to ensure a safe future for the next generations, but creates more chaos than he solves, copies some nasty ideas from his evil grandfather, and has to be killed by his twin sister. ... The Jedi Masters have reached a decision: for the good of the galaxy, Darth Caedus must be destroyed. Jaina Solo, fresh from training with the Mandalorians, is dispatched to kill her twin brother.
This book is the final instalment in the Legacy of the Force series which chronicles Jacen Solo's unholy transformation into the Sith Lord Darth Caedus. It should have been gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.
It wasn't.
As a whole, the series has been unfocused, bogged down in subplots ... Read More

It's very hard to review this book without reviewing the entire Legacy of the Force series. However, I shall attempt to keep some order by reviewing Invincible first and the series second. Seeing that a majority of the reviews for this book are negative, I didn't go into the ninth volume of the LotF series with particularly high expectations. After reading it, I would give it three and a half stars. As a book of the series, it held up well. There was plenty of action and character growth and I don't think ... Read More
