Product Description:
It’s time for Sarah Booth to pack up her hound dog and her P.I. business and take a shot at stardom! Soon she aces the screen test for a racy remake of the movie Body Heat alongside leading man Graf Miliau. The chemistry between them is undeniable—and why not? Graf has already starred in one of Sarah’s previous affairs…and is well on his way to landing a big part in the sequel.
Thrilled as Sarah is to be in Hollywood, her dream-come-true comes at a price. She has to leave behind her family’s ancestral home in Mississippi, her closest friends, and the possibility of settling down with her longtime love to film on location in Costa Rica. It’s not long before rivalries flare, unexplained accidents occur, and this leading lady mysteriously finds herself in some steamy tabloids…without turning up in a single frame of film.

I have read all of the Sarah Booth novels, as well as most of the author's stand-alone fiction, and I can truly say that I look forward to the new Mississippi Delta mystery every year! Carolyn Haines does a fantastic job of creating believable characters that the reader can easily relate to. Her descriptions are vivid and true-to-life, and the plot of Wishbones is a fun diversion from the others in the series.

This is by far the best in the Sarah Booth series. My only problem is I was left hanging and wondering what is wrong with Oscar and when the next book will be published.

Oscar might die. That's how the latest Sarah Booth Delaney mystery ends, very unsatisfactory. She is headed back to the plantation, which is good. But I feel it's cheating a little to keep us hanging so we'll get the next book. It takes a while for these books to come out! It's too "Perils of Pauline-ish." Carolyn Haines is better that this. The books are good enough to stand on their own.
This one, away from the plantation and with less of Jitty than usual was not quite as good as the predecessors, ... Read More

have just not been as great as the ones before.
I don't know if I will continue to read the series if she doesn't return to MS all together.

Sarah Booth has made her venture to Hollywood to become a star. She immediately finds that Hollywood is nothing like Zinnia. Events are complicated when she is cast for a part in a motion picture that seems to be cursed. Problems in Hollywood follow the motion picture to a location in Costa Rica. The director has some enemies, including his children, and things emerge from the past.
Ssrah Booth's friend Tinky shows up on the scene, and together they put their detecting skills to work (not ... Read More
