For my purposes the book is a waste of time. If you know pretty much nothing about the subject, it's okay. But the author's schemata is not standard practice. One of the other reviewers noted that the book doesnt address the realities of the criminal justice system, and theyre correct. Criminal Justice is not CSI or LAW & ORDER. Very well written and clear book on the procedures for criminal investigations. Great reference book for anyone aspiring to write crime novels!

This is an excellent book for an experienced officer as a reference or a simple layman wishing to understand investigations, which can be a complex matter for the untrained person. This clarifies anything that anyone would ever wonder or ask about investigations, and I would recommend it to anyone for personal enrichment or professional reference.

Great book, very well written. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the field of criminal justice. The book is very informative, yet easy to understand. I think it would make a good book for reference or a good book for course instruction. I will recommend it to anyone who wants information regarding the execution of a criminal investigation.
